You will also be a primary influence on children and youth in families attending the church, and have scope for detached work with young people.

Your hours will involve some fixed commitments, to include weekends and evenings, and some self-scheduling hours of work, requiring faithfulness and flexibility. We anticipate Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, as being the primary days of your work.

You will report to the Youth and Children’s Coordinator at WBC, as well as a representative of the Charity’s Trustees.

We are looking for someone who loves to work with youth and children in church contexts. We need you to have at least some experience with young people with additional needs, and sensitivity regarding issues of mental health, well-being, and Christian discipleship. You will need to be able to demonstrate working faithfully and knowledgeably with Safeguarding policies and procedures.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual, a real team player, able to bring energy and love to this role. This is a permanent appointment, and it comes with a requirement that you will be, or will become, a worshipping part of the congregation at Weymouth Baptist Church.

We will require an Enhanced Disclosure (DBS), and three references, including one character reference.

Please email Christina at office@weychurch.co.uk, to request an application form. Feel free to add your phone number and ask for an informal chat about the role, if you would like.
